Respite care is temporary care, either planned or emergency, aimed at caregivers. Respite Care provides short-term breaks for families and carers while also providing a positive experience for the person attending the programme.
Specialised Respite Care Services
Individuals admitted for respite care enjoy activity programmes designed around social engagement, physical exercise, intellectual stimulation and fun through music, dance, pet therapy, games, armchair travel, debates, discussions, quizzes, exercise groups, outings and more. In addition to a busy activity schedule, long term residents enjoy balanced and nutritious meals approved by a registered dietitian.
Our multidisciplinary team also offer additional support services to the primary caregiver of the respite care resident. These services include support, counselling, health education, home care planning, assistive device prescription/issue, and home or task adaptation should any be required. This ensures that the individual receiving respite care and their primary caregiver thrive in the home care environment with the right care and support.
