Medical doctors form a fundamental pillar of the Faircape Health Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). Our medical doctors are selected for their diversity of medical interests and talents – from internal medicine, geriatrics, and orthopaedics to palliative care, and general surgery. Our team of doctors includes both medical generalists (General Practitioners) and specialists (Family Physicians).
Combining their efforts, the Faircape Health medical doctors administer care within the biopsychosocial paradigm. This means that they don’t only diagnose disease or disorder – they approach each patient as a unique individual. They are committed to spending quality time with patients as a core part of their practice and leading the activities, treatment plans and clinical outcomes of the MDT team.
Dr Nicci Snyders is a specialist Family Physician passionate about holistic rehabilitation. Her interests include internal medicine, geriatrics, mental health and palliative care. She has diplomas with CMSA in emergency medicine, anaesthetics and paediatrics. She is currently doing her fellowship in rehabilitation medicine through the International Rehabilitation Forum. She is the lead doctor at Faircape Tokai Subacute and Rehabilitation Facility.
Dr. Aneeka Domingo is a medical doctor with special interests in neurology, mental health, and palliative care. She also has training in medical ethics, which diversifies her clinical skillset. Aneeka is currently completing a postgraduate diploma in Palliative Medicine (UCT) (and is a member of Palprac SA)- advocating for optimal palliative care, with an emphasis on the appropriate and compassionate management of patients with life-limiting illness. Aneeka provides patient-centred care and health education to empower her patients to achieve the best possible quality of life.
Dr. Marlouise Steenkamp is a General Practitioner. She avidly advocates for preventative medicine and alongside her experience in primary care and General Practice, Marlouise’s interest includes advancing her clinical expertise by seeking out opportunities to improve her knowledge and skills. All of her patients receive high-quality, all-encompassing care, and she delights in their progress and successes through rehabilitation. She holds a certificate in basic and acute cardiac life support.
Dr. Johann Maartens is passionate about quality medical care, academics, and research. A general practitioner with a strong research background, his medical experience includes rural and emergency medicine as well as primary care. His areas of interest include emergency, internal, and systems based medicine. Dr. Maartens holds a Master's degree in Medical physiology and a diploma in emergency medicine.
Dr. Leila Amien is passionate about medicine and providing her patients with the best practice of treatment and care. A General Practitioner, Dr. Amien has a special interest in medicine’s surgical field, specifically, restorative treatment following surgery. She is constantly seeking to improve her skills and knowledge in order to provide patients with up-to-date, high-quality medical care and believes that working as part of an interdisciplinary team enhances the team's knowledge and skills and assists in providing a high level of care to all patients.
Dr. Nicole Jacka, a compassionate and highly skilled medical doctor with a degree from the University of Cape Town (Cum Laude), has extensive experience in internal medicine, emergency care, and primary health. She is committed to delivering empathetic, professional care that aligns with our mission of excellence.
Dr Erin Warren-Hansen is a dedicated General Practitioner specialising in preventive care, chronic disease management, and acute treatment. Her compassionate, patient-centred approach ensures personalised care for our community.
Dr. Heather Dicks is a family medicine specialist passionate about primary health and holistic patient care. After earning her MBChB in 2012, she specialized in Family Medicine, completing an MMED and FCFP. With a patient-centered approach, Dr. Dicks values involving families in care to achieve the best outcomes.
Dr. Anne Papavarnavas, originally from Johannesburg, trained at the University of Pretoria and gained experience at Groote Schuur and Mitchell’s Plain Hospitals. Specializing in emergency medicine, aesthetic medicine, palliative care, and mental health, she is committed to providing comprehensive care and empowering patients. Dr. Papavarnavas is excited to join Faircape and contribute to patient recovery and rehabilitation.
With over 15 years in healthcare administration, Anika is a skilled Medical Practice Manager, optimizing operations, ensuring compliance, and enhancing patient care. She excels in finance, staff management, and patient relations, creating a positive, patient-centered environment. A strategic problem solver, Anika always goes the extra mile with a smile.
